Obituary of Alfred Edward Woodhouse

Woodhouse- Alfred (Ed) EdwardAugust 24, 1934-July 30, 2005, passed peacefully at home with family. Devoted and cherished husband of Ruth (Elliott) for 48 years, loved father of David (Theresa), Jim (Shelly), Paul (Laurel), proud grandfather of Ryan, Andrew, Dawn, Bryan, Thomas, Kyle and Alysa. Brothers Keith (Win) and Derwyn (Helen). Fondly remembered by Ruby and Evelyn. He was predeceased by father Alfred, mother Hilda and brother David. Edward was an employee for 37 years with the Canadian National Railroad, a member and past-master of Niagara-on-the-Lake Masonic Lodge #2, member of St. Columba Anglican Church and lifetime member of the Grantham Optimist Club. Edward was a avid participant, fan and coach in minor sports in St. Catharines, enjoying softball, hockey and badminton. The family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Chapel 585 Carlton Street Wednesday 2-4p.m. and 7-9p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Columba Anglican Church, 7 St. Columba Drive on Thursday August 4, 2005 at 11:00 a.m.. Members of Masonic Lodge #2 Niagara-on-the-Lake will hold a service at the funeral home Wednesday at 7:30p.m.. If desired memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, St. Columba Memorial Fund, or a charity of your choice.
