Obituary of Rodger Bruce Bailey
BAILEY, Rodger (February 13 1944- February 11, 2011)- Passed away surrounded by the love of his family at the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital. Cherished husband and partner of Theresa for 37 years. Loving and proud father of Max ( Crystal) and Ben (Cindi). Proud Poppup of Max Jr. (11 months old). Nephew of Ruth McClure and Wilf Manuel. Cousin of Linda, Debbie and Gary. Lovingly remembered by sisters in law and brothers in law, many nieces, nephews and close friends. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Luce and Mrs. Luce for their outstanding care and friendship. A special thank you to the nurses on 2 West at the Hotel Dieu Shaver as well as CCAC (Community Care Access Centre). Rodger will be remembered as a fair and kind man with a good heart, sweet smile and a twinkle in his eye. "Still waters run deep". Rodger and his sons were avid race car fans and the boys loved to watch their dad race. Mr. Bailey is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 2-4p.m. & 7-9p.m. A Celebration of Rodger's life will take place on Wednesday at 11a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial at Victoria Lawn Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to The Hotel Dieu Shaver Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
