Obituary of Slavka Flus

Flus, Slavka (Nee Resnik) - Passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 1, 2005 surrounded by her family at Ina Grafton Gage Home. Slavka was born in Slovenia. She leaves behind daughters Frances Mestek, Anne Pogacnik-Flus, Catherine Flus. Sons Vic (Marina), Tony (Marlene). Brother Rudy (Anne) Resnik of Toronto and Pepca Hautman of Slovenia. Predeceased by husband Frank (1993) and daughters Slavka Mestek (1974) and Mary Gerden (1986). She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Slavka was a loving, kind and very cherished Mother. Slavka was active in the C.W.L. and for many years used her talents for church vestments and altar cloths both at St. Denis and Cathedral of St. Catherine of Alexandria. A very special thanks to Dr. Diane Walser-Jebb for her tender compassionate care. Also a very special thanks for the loving attention Slavka received during the past eight years from the entire wonderful staff at Ina Grafton Gage Home. Slavka is resting at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St. Visitation will be held on Thursday November 3, 2005 and Friday November 4, 2005 from 7-9pm. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday November 5, 2005 at 10am at the Cathedral of St.Catharine of Alexandria (corner of Lyman and Church Sts.). Interment will follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances for Slavka may be made to either St. Denis Church or Ina Grafton Gage Home.
