Obituary of Hugh Bryce Decker
DECKER HUGH With great sorrow, the family announce the passing of Hugh Decker, suddenly on Wednesday November 9th, 2005 , at the St. Catherines General Hospital NHS, with his loving family at this side, at 77 years of age. Beloved husband of Jean for 41 years. Loving father of Kerry (Melissa) and Edward. Cherished grandpa of Shane, Joel, Alexa and Zachary. Survived by his sister Betty Toms. Dear brother in law of Shirley Bradley, Donna and Pat Lonergan. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters Cecil, Burton, Gladys and Joe. Hugh will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Hugh was employed at Garden City Paper for over 20 years and retired from the City of St. Catharines, Parks and Recreation. He was a prominent member of the Merriton Lions Club. Hugh was a devoted pop going to all of his kids sporting events. His smile and humour will never be forgotten.
The family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Cremation to follow. A private family inurnment will take place in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial remembrances to the Celiac Association or the Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
