Obituary of Katie Balanowski
BALANOWSKI KATIE Peacefully, on Monday December 26, 2005 at the St Catharines General Hospital NHS, in her 95th year. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Richard (1996). Loving mother of Joanne and Eugene Suszek, Lucy Mai and Carman, Ervin and Shari Balanowski, Robert and Connie Balanowski, John and Debbie Balanowski. Predeceased by her son Tony (2000), grandson Robert Suszek (2001). She is survived by 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Joseph Babiasch and sister Josephine Wilhelm of St Catharines. Katie was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and the Holy Rosary Society. A member of Club Heidleberg and the Ladies Auxiliary for 52 years, of which she was a founding member. She was also a member of Dunlop Drive Senior Citizen Centre.
Katie is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. until Friday at 10:30am. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in Our Lady of Perpetual Help church at 11am. Visiting hours are Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9pm. Vigil prayers will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 7:30pm. Rite of committal in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial remembrances to thre Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
