Obituary of Michael Korda
KORDA, MICHAEL It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of a cherished husband, dear father and loving grand father on Monday January 23, 2006 in his 87th year. He leaves behind his loving wife Nadia. son Roman (Maria) daughter Anna (Greg)Cook. Grandchildren Daniel, Olexander and Stefa and his sister Maria in Ukraine. Michael was one of the founding members of the Ukrainian Black Sea Hall, and past president of the League of Ukrainian Canadians. He was also active in the Ukrainian Youth Association of Canada and a member of Yednist Senior Citizens Group. Michael was a former employee of Ontario Paper and was a member of Sts Cyril and Methodius Ukrainain Catholic Church.
Mr. Korda is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. until Friday at 9:30am. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in Sts. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church at 10am. Rite of committal in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday 2-4 and 7-9pm. Panachyda will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 7:30pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to Sts Cyril and Methodius Church, Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
