Obituary of Margaret Mary O'Hagan

O'Hagan Margaret Mary (McMenamin) - On Friday January 27th , 2006, in her 84th year, at Niagara on the Lake Hospital. Margaret returned to our Lord to join her beloved husband the late Newton Lloyd (1999) in heaven, dear mother of her devoted, only child, Linda Marie. Predeceased by her parents John Valentine and Mary Ann McMenamin, brothers and sister Francis McMenamin, Eileen Gallagher, Patrick Hugh, Philip, John and Gerald McMenamin. Margaret is also survived by several nieces, nephews and dear, loving friend (and son) for 20 years Fr. Chris and "the kids" Barron (her special companion), Dean-Monzie, Miss Molly and Kosmo. . Margaret was a member of the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Alexandria and she was a founding member of St. Julia Church. She was a member of the C.W.L. for 56 years, and received her Maple Leaf service pin. She was previously a member of St. Julia and St. Mary of the Assumption CWL. She was an usher at St. Julia Church and a member of Save the Children-St.. Catharines. Margaret was a nurse during WWll where she met her husband in Belfast, Ireland, in 1945, then moved to Canada October 16th 1947,marrying Nov. 12th , 1947. Margaret worked at the Diana Sweets Restaurant, as a waitress, baker and candy maker, for over 40 years retiring in 1991. Margaret was very active in her community and church always being there for family and friends. She will be remembered as a beautiful, Christian lady with a deep, undying faith. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Margaret is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. until Wednesday at 10:00am. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in The Cathedral of St. Catherine of Alexandria at 10:30am. Rite of Committal at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Visiting hours are Monday 7-9 and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9pm. Vigil prayers for the deceased will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 8pm. Memorial remembrances to the Diocese of St. Catharines Harvest of Hope Campaign would be appreciated by the family.
