Obituary of Solange Berthe Maltais

MALTAIS, Solange Berthe (nee Dupras) Passed away peacefully on January 31, 2006 in her 90th year at the Welland County General Hospital. Predeceased by her husband, Francois Xavier in 1970 and daughter Tina Lahaie in 1999. Loving mother of Roland (Micheline), Laurier (Karen), Rosaire, Mariette (Ghislain), Serge (Carol), Jean-Luc (Betty), Fernand (Diane), Elise Legere (Gerry), Danielle Smith (Bob), Francois (Toni), Helene (Dave Petty), and Cecile. Also predeceased by 14 brothers and sisters and survived by her sister Therese Lahaie of Ottawa and many nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by 27 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren Solange was a French school teacher in Quebec and Ontario for 38 years and an active member of Les Dames Chretiennes. Solange's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Wednesday, February 1st from 7-9pm and Thursday, February 2nd from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Vigil prayers will take place at the funeral home on Thursday at 7pm. Funeral Liturgy will take place at Eglise Immaculee-Conception on Friday, February 3rd at 1pm. Burial at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the CNIB or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family. You were the strength and pillar of our family. You will always be in our hearts and will be greatly missed.
