Obituary of Martin Kilian

KILIAN, Martin It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father and opa on Tuesday, March 21st at the age of 84. During his battle with cancer, he taught us lessons in courage and positive attitude. He was the owner and operator of the Pen Centre Barber Shop for many years and was still serving customers until only a few weeks ago at The Barber Shop in Thorold. Predeceased by his wife Anna in 1992. He will be deeply missed by his children and their partners, Erika and John, Mary and Ian, Martin and Linda and Robert and Marina. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren , Matthew and Katherine, Ashley, Fraser and Tyler, and Marty. He is survived by his sisters Barbara and Maria and their families of Germany, his cousin Marcsi and the Peterne Faidt Maria family of Hungary. Also survived by his sisters-in-law and their spouses, Resi and Jacob, Ilon and Fred, Maria and Horst, Kati and Armin, Ella and Erhard, Liska, Anni, of Germany. Martin's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street on Thursday, March 23rd from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Roman Catholic Church, 272 Vine Street, St. Catharines on Friday, March 24th at 11am . Vigil Prayers for the deceased at the funeral home on Thursday at 3pm . Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Hospice Niagara would be appreciated by the family.
