Suddenly on Friday, April 15, 2005 at St. Catharines General Hospital. Beloved husband of Jackie, loving father of Gregory (Ann) of Didsbury, Alberta, Karen (Paul) Starrs and Peter of St. Catharines, dear Papa of Matthew (Tammy) ,Todd Hnatiuk and Shannon Starrs, brother of Daniel (Stella) of Espanola, uncle of Jill (Greg) Doyle. Will be remembered by many family and friends. Walter was a member of St. Alfred Church, the Ushers Club and the Holy Name Society. He was a past president of the Canadian Progress Club, longtime volunteer with the Ontario Special Olympics Bowling and volunteer art teacher at the Dunlop Drive Seniors Center, he was a retired teacher with the Lincoln County Board of Education.
Walter is resting at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St. until Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. Alfred's Church at 12 noon with cremation to follow. Visiting Hours Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be celebrated in the funeral home on Monday at 3 p.m. Memorial Remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
