LEE, Margaret P. (Loftus)
Passed away peacefully at the St. Catharines General Hospital on April 29, 2005 in her 84th year.
Predeceased by husband Ronald M. Lee, parents Dr. William and Mona Loftus, and sisters Claire Legare and Mona Loftus. Loving mother of Michael G. Lee of Capitola , California and Shaun J. Lee of Mountain View , California. Also survived by sisters Anna (Neil) O'Brien of St. Catharines, Vera Quinn of Collingwood, brother Bill Loftus (Sandra) of St. Catharines and many nieces, nephews and their families.
Born in St. Catharines, she graduated in 1943 from St. Michaels Hospital Nursing School and in 1948 from St. Michael's School for Medical Record Administrators. She was a Lieutenant Nursing Sister in the Canadian Army Medical Corp in 1945 and 1946 serving on the Isle de France bringing troops back to Canada. She lived in California (Bay area) for 35 years and retired in 1988 as Director of Medical Record Services at Sequoia Hospital, Redwood City California. Margaret was also an active member of St. Julia's Parish in St. Catharines and the C.W.L.
Margaret's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Sunday, May 1st from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 2nd at 10 am. at St. Julia's Catholic Church. Vigil Prayers at the funeral home on Sunday at 7:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the St. Catharines General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
