Whenever I visit my mom in St. Catharines, I look fondly at my mom’s kitchen counter and remember spending hours there, feet up, chatting to Bryce about life and whatever else came to mind. We’d chat into the wee hours about all that high school life and burgeoning adulthood would bring. Missing you always, my friend - Jennifer

I am so sorry that Bryce is gone. I knew him in high school, but hadn't seen him in a while.
About two years ago I was heading into my dance studio (in Toronto) when I saw Bryce getting off of his bike, and walking up the stairs! My dance studio was at the back part of the apartments, and Bryce was living in the front apartment. I had admired an inventive pulley-system that had been rigged in the hall to store a bike high up in the air. It made perfect sense that Bryce had created it. We had a great time passing each other notes under the doors of the apartments/studios.
I will miss him, his laugh, and his warmth. My deepest regrets, Krista

When I heard the sad news about Bryce's passing it made me feel even farther from home. I am currently in England but knew Bryce from Laura Secord. Unfortunately I lost touch with him after high school but I considered him a good friend and always wished we would run into each other again.
There have been key moments from our friendship that I have been reminiscing about since the news of his passing. I would like to share them with anyone that may remember:
1. His ability to Mosey
2. Trips to timmy's in his quirky car
3. His passion for skydiving, photography, and anything scottish.
4.My Buddy
Bryce you will be missed. My thoughts go out to all of your family and close friends. You touched us all individually in your own unique way and with that, you will never be forgotten.
Wherever you go, go with all your heart. I feel that Bryce followed that motto and if we have learned anything from him it should be just that.

You were blessed to have such a 'star', a 'special poem', a 'talented son' .... may his free spirit and tender, caring personality live on throughout your family - and may he be surrounded with great love and pride as was bestowed upon him - God Rest His Soul..... take care of yourself Bunny, you're in my thoughts .... Dear Bunny and family
I am very grieved to learn that Bryce has become immortal at such a young age.
Even though I have not seen him or talked to him in a few years, his art, his smile and his comforting presence remained vivid in me. We spent beautiful moments together during my exchange year at Laura Secord. I am very grateful for the few times that his life and mine came together in the same place, at the same time and with the same mindset.
I wish you all the strength and comfort you need for the rest of your time without your beloved Bryce.
My heartfelt sympathies

When God created Bryce, he created a vibrant piece of poetry. When this poem arrived at Laura Secord, he needed to find the rhythm of not only Secord but of his own being. As the productions and Dramatic Arts courses paraded by with the oncoming years, Bryce found that metre, that rhythm and cutivated it after graduation.
His contact with me since that time displayed that "different drummer" that all of us have heard about. He found his own rhyme, his cadence, his rhythm, and his smile. His positive life force will always remain with me, especially when I question our existence here on earth. God felt that the poem-Bryce- was complete, perfect and he placed His last touches on the page of his existence. Bryce brought the inspiration of life to me. In some ways he taught me more than I could ever have taught him.
Thank you God for giving us Bryce-Your "Perfect Poem".

During this time he became my first true love as we discovered what having a real relationship was all about. I will especially remember our inseparable time spent during the countless number of theatrical productions throughout the area. Bryce was a kindhearted and sensitive man who was always a support for me and still continues to be. His strong will and determination has inspired many people to reach for their dreams and to never let go. He will be sorely missed by myself and my parents, Cathy and Maurice. Because of Bryce, my husband Dave and I tried our first jump and he was up in the sky with us doing what he did best, flying and taking photos. He was a great photo assistant and an amazing photographer. I will always remember Bryce, wearing his skydiving suit and getting ready to go back up the plane for another jump. I have known Julia Macfarlane since becoming fast friends in grade nine. I have wonderful memories of hanging at The Clusters on weekends and overnights with Bunny, Julia Callei and Bryce. Bryce was like a baby brother to me. I remember babysitting him, entertaining him (even as teenage girls he was never a pest to us!) and attending a grade school play of his. He was just such an intelligent, pleasant young boy. I moved away and although lost touch, you never forget special people in your life. I often thought of Julia Bunny Callei and Bryce. I had the pleasure of seeing them at Tricia Keracher's engagement and wedding. ALthough Bryce had certainly grown up I was not shocked to find that in his twenties he was as kind, fun loving and ambitious as his childhood days. I was so pleased to hear of all his accomplishments and to see how close he was with his sisters and nephew Drew. Family is everything and in that aspect the Macfarlanes are lucky, having such a close knit, kind and caring family. Bunny, Julia Callei, Michael and family our thoughts are with you. I will forever remember Bryce as a kind caring gentleman, who even in his passing breathed life to 6 people.

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long delirious, burning blue,
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew -
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high untresspassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.
Godspeed, Bryce. Nobody else proved that a picture really was worth a thousand words.

I have met him at Niagara Skydive Centre and had the pleasure of getting to know this wonderful young man, with a kind and gentle soul that he brought into any interaction with others. He was always helpful and understanding, funny and true. His smile was simply contagious. The warmth he was radiating will be with us forever, although his presence will be missed so much it is hard to put in words. There is simply no justice in not allowing Bryce to achieve his full potential. He had so much to give as a human being and as a skydiver. The enormous energy he put into the sport was filled with passion and love. His sincere and respectful attitude toward everybody made this young man unique. He was true lover of life. We had the pleasure of knowing Bryce through his work with Pete Gaffney. It was a relationship once removed but every time I (or my kids) saw Bryce he always left us with a smile.
My kids couldn't believe that this man they knew actually jumped out of airplanes. He always treated my kids with kindness and respect. I loved hearing what Bryce was up to and imagined that he had such an exciting life, following his heart and doing exactly what he wanted. He seemed to have some indefinable quality about him that made me feel lighter and brighter even after the most mundane conversation. Bryce was so clearly an exceptional person.

On behalf of Bryce's Teammates I would like to express our deepest sympathies at this difficult time. Unfortunately the team is out of the country and cannot say good-bye as they would like. Bryce was much loved by all of us and we will miss him dearly. He made us smile and we have a lot of great memories, he will live on with us. Blue Skies, Bryce. Enjoy the beyond.

I will always remember Bryce as a kind, genuine, and optimistic person. I admire that he has always been driven by his passions. He had a wonderful heart, a beautiful smile, and a way of making everyone he met comfortable in his presence. Knowing him certainly enriched my life, and gave me many warm memories of my time at Laura Secord. I offer my condolences to his family. He was a remarkable person and led a remarkable life.

My name is Taimi. I went to Scottlea with Bryce in grade 7 and 8. Him and I sat near each other most of grade 8 and always got in trouble for talking to each other so much. I also took grade 9 math with him and the rest of the enrichment class that year (him and I were the only two not in the enrichment program to be skipped from grade 7 to grade 9 math). Bryce, myself, and another girl, Charlene, were good friends that year. We had a lot of fun in school with each other. Bryce was really intelligent and would make me laugh like crazy. When I read of his death in the paper today, I cried. Bryce was a great guy and I have fond memories of school with him. Many condolences to your family. He will be missed. May the Lord be with you during this time.

words at this time fail to express the shock and the sadness of receiving the news of Bryce's death. In the gifted art class, permission was asked to let Bryce's written assignments be replaced with photo essays. I wish that I could express my sympathy in photo form, but pictures or words both fail in the expression of the sense of loss.

Hello, I'm Bryce's dad. I miss my son so very much, his loss is devastating to me. If you are a friend of Bryce or a relative I know that you will miss him and be morning his loss. He was special to all of us in many different ways, but especially missed will be the true and genuine friendship he would give so freely to people he knew and met. He added much to my life. I will think of him every day and will always love him.
