Obituary of Alex Norman Elliott
Elliott Alex Norman suddenly on Friday Dec. 17, 2004 at Hotel Dieu Hospital. Alex Elliott 67 years of age, beloved husband of the late Barbara, loving father of Lisa and Ed Spera of St. Catharines, Colin of Vancouver B.C., dear brother of Joan and Bob McKinlay, the late Ernie and Ethel all of England, Ronnie Rice and Angie Higgins both of Ireland, dear brother-in-law of Eileen and the late Brian Corkish, Brian and Pam Donaghy all of England. Alex is survived by his nieces and nephews Damian, Gregory, Catherine, Richard, Nick, Ian, David, Gerry, Christopher, Stephen, Terry, Karen, Jimmy, Lesley, Paul, Desi, Eamon, Danny, Graham, Fiona and Andrea and also had his "adopted family" of Feliks and Donna Spera, Krys and Serge, Carmine and Teresa Spedaliere and Pani Kmieciewski all of St. Catharines. Alex will be sadly missed by his pets Holli, Riley, Charlie, Taffy, Tsika, Buddy, Roxy. Alex worked as a marine engineer with Upper Lakes Shipping Ltd./Algoma and was a very active member and director of the Rotary Club of St. Catharines, a director with the Alzheimers Society of St. Catharines,and a member of the St. Catharines Gyro Club.
Alex is resting at the George Darte Funeral Chapel 585 Carlton St. until Thursday at 9 am. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. Alfred's Church at 9:30 am. Rite of committal will be held in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Visiting hours are Tuesday 7-9 and Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9. Vigil prayers for Alex will be said on Wednesday at 3 pm. in the funeral home. Memorial remembrances to the Alzheimers Society or Rotary Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
