Obituary of Richard Gatenby

GATENBY RICHARD Surrounded by his family Rick passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday December 18th, 2004 in his 59th year. Beloved husband of Carole. Loving father of Sean and wife Vicky, Michael and wife Debbie and Peter Prudek. Cherished papa of Megan, Brian, Trevor and Samantha. Dearest son of Robert and Janet Gatenby and much loved brother of Phil and Dave (Cathy). He will be sadly missed by his sisters-in-law and brothers -in- law Marianne and Don McSween, Vivian and Frank Zielski, Ed Zielski and many nieces, nephews and relatives. He was a special, kind and caring man and will be greatly missed by many friends, especially Tommy and Bill. Rick was employed by the City of St. Catharines as a firefighter until retiring in 1998. As per Rick's wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Rick's life will be held in the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St on Tuesday at 11:30am. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 7-9pm. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Kidney Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society
