Mrs. Lawrenson and family,
Words cannot express the profound sadness felt with Craig's passing. Craig and I have been good friends for roughly 18 years- and this news leaves an enormous void for me. His laughter, his jokes, his kindness, his strength, and his unwavering devotion to not only his family, but his friends, was something I'll admire and cherish for the rest of my life. He was like a brother to me. I send to you all my condolences- for he truly was one of a kind. Thinking of you all at this time.

Dear Norma and family, I was deeply saddened, when talking to Brett the other day, to hear of your terrible loss of Craig. Although the last time I saw Craig he was but a child. Our sincere sympathies go out to you all, or as they say down here, Y'all. This has been a horrid year for all your family. Our thoughts are with you! Bob & Linda

We wish to offer our condolances to Craig's family - to Shanelle and Nicholas, to his loving mother, brothers, aunts, uncles and cousins. We are sad that we could not be there to see Craig on his final journey but know he would understand. We feel lucky to have had the chance to visit with him in Halifax before his move to Ottawa and to have a few phone conversations as well. Trevor has so many good memories of their trips together and Heather always considered Craig to be the little brother she never had. After five years away in Victoria we had been looking forward to spending more time with Craig and are heartbroken that he has been taken from us all so early. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. Sincerely, the Gayler Family, now of Hunter River PEI.

Dear Norma and all the Lawrenson family: I received a tremendous shock upon learning of Craig's death as I was finally catching up on the papers. My heart goes out to all of you upon the loss of such a fine young man. Craig impressed me from my earliest days in Port Dalhousie, in 1984, and, although the years had passed since I left Star of the Sea, seeing his name before me today brought back vivid memories of a very personable individual who was well-known in the parish and in the community at large. He certainly touched my life in his own way, and I must say that this death has stunned me beyond words. I know I am very late in this, but Craig's going from us comes so soon after your sister Val's death, Norma, and I only heard that sad news after the fact. I retain fond memories of your husband, JIm, who is meeting up with Craig once again. If I had seen the papers earlier, I would have visited you in person at the funeral home; be that as it may, I offer you my sincerest and heartfelt prayers this Christmastime, difficult as it will be for all -- Craig will definitely be on my mind for a long time to come. I pray for his own family also in their great loss. I embrace you in your sorrow. (Fr.) PETER

Although I am not able to attend the funeral service and be there with you today, please know I am thinking about you and your family and the pain you are feeling. Craig was always a gentleman. I will remember him as a kind "centered" individual, with a great sense of humour, who was at ease with the world, always there for his friends, and who possessed a calm, unaffected sense of confidence. I know his passing will leave a great void in the lives of those who were closest to him.

Dear Mrs. Lawrenson and Family
On behalf of Kim and I, we would like to express our profound sympathy for your loss.
As a close friend of Craig for the past 10 years, I came to see Craig as one of the kindest, most thoughtful and "off the wall" characters that I have ever been blest to have known. He never gave less than an unqualified acceptance of those that he came in contact with each and every day. We will all miss Craig; He touched so many of our lives. He will live forever in our hearts and minds

My family and I are so sorry for your loss.
For the short time that I knew Craig, he was very caring always looking out for others. He was the first one from work to comfort me at my time of need, now I wish that I could return the favor but all I have are these few words and having you know that our thoughts are with you and your family.

Mrs. Lawrence and all of Craig's Family,
I was very shocked and saddened to see Craig obituary in the paper yesterday. I went to high school with Craig, and as awful it is when someone passes it really puts life in perspective and makes me hold my own kids closer when someone your own age, so young, passes away.
When something so tragic happens you always hear how nice they were and what a speial person they were. Well in Craig case this was true. He was a very kind person and I only remember nice things when I think back about Craig.
Although you cannot change what has happened and I am sure you feel very numb and that your hearts will never mend. You have to believe in your hearts that he is happy to be with his dad again and they are smiling down on all of you. A part of Craigs heart lives on in his beautiful children. God Bless you.

I was very sorry to hear news of Craig's passing. I sailed with Craig for much of the past 6 six years, serving with him onboard HMCS MONTREAL, HMCS FREDERICTON, and most recently onboard HMCS CHARLOTTETOWN as his divisional officer. I got to know Craig well over the years as we worked together on the same watch. He was a proud father, a loyal colleague, and a professional sailor - his dedication and sense of humour will be greatly missed within the Above Water Warfare community and the Navy at large. My family and I send the sincerest condolences and mourn with you in your loss.

Mrs Lawrenson and family
It was with great sadness that we received the news of Craig's passing from Bob Burton yesterday. Craig and I sailed together for three years in FREDERICTON when Craig was an Able, Leading and Master Seaman. There was little doubt in our minds that he would become an excellent Petty Officer and probably a Chief some day. As part of the training team that awaited him on his next course that was to take place this winter, I looked forward to watching him become an Above Water Weapons Director. This was the next step in him becoming a PO1 and being in charge of his own section onboard a warship. He was a genuinely nice person with a smile from ear to ear. Craig's infectious laugh and compassion made quite an impression on Kim and me over the years. Obviously, God had bigger plans for him and called him home too soon for our liking. I'm sure he is sitting with Jim, telling tall tales from his many years at sea and roaring with laughter. We are thankful that his suffering passed quickly.
Our deepest sympathy goes out to you. Craig will be in our prayers as we come together this holiday season. God Bless.

Dear Lawrenson Family,
I received a call from one of our shipmates just a few moments ago and was deeply saddened to learn that Craig had lost his valiant fight with cancer. As his former Commmanding Officer in HMCS CHARLOTTETOWN, I would like to express my sincere condolences to you on behalf of all the men and women who had the pleasure to work alongside him.
Craig was highly regarded in the ship for his expertise and strong sense of teamwork. His exceptional leadership within the NESOP section and strong passion for mentoring young men and women in progressing their Naval careers will leave a lasting tribute to his dedication and professional commitment.
His smile and laughter under the most trying circumstances always enlivened the morale of the crew. Just as you have lost a dearly loved man from your family, we in the Navy feel we have lost a loved member of our own family. You can be justifiably proud of Craig's accomplishments throughout his military career. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of those who had the opportunity to serve with him.
It was a distinct honour to have him under my command, a rare privilege to share in his life. He will not be forgotten by us.
With my sincere sympathy

To all of you who loved Craig, words can not express my deepest sympathy for your loss. I had the special privilege of being able to call Craig one of my best friends and I will miss him terribly. He was a man of compassion and integrity and had a devoted love for his children. They were indeed the center of his universe and at the last days of his life in Halifax his only thoughts were of getting to spend some quality time with them. He battled this terrible disease bravely till the end.
For me and my family, we will always cherish our memories of his laughter and his life.
All our love and support over the miles to Norma, Francine, Shannelle and Nicholas.
