Obituary of Julian Nikitczuk
NIKITCZUK JULIAN Peacefully, with his family at his side, On Wednesday February 9, 2005 at the Shaver Hospital, at 84 years of age. Julian is gone to be with the only woman he ever loved, his beloved wife Janina (1984) Loving father of Henry (Louanne), Casey (Christine), Irena (Rick) Nikitczuk -Findlay and Krys (Tony) Bemke. Cherished Dziadzi of Tanya (Sean) Vout, Joseph (Kelly), Daniel, Matthew, Christopher and Janina, great grandfather of Connor and Patrick Vout. Survived by family in Poland. Julian will be lovingly remembered by family, friends, and all the many, many, lives he touched.
Julian served in WW11. He made a brave journey across Finland to Sweden, coming to Canada in the late 40's. He taught himself to speak five languages. He was employed with McKinnnons (General Motors), retiring in 1985 after 36 years of service while carrying out his love of agriculture. Julian was an active member with the Royal Canadian Polish Legion, Branch 418 for over 50 years. He was also a long standing member of Our Lady of Perpetual Church. His pride and his love for his family was of utmost importance to him. What an incredible role model to his family! Thanks Ta! It takes a special person to be a "Tata". Many, many, thanks to the compassion and care received by ALL of the staff at the Shaver Hospital. A very special thanks to "Ziggy" his personal support care worker and another new found friend.
Mr. Nikitczuk is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. until Saturday at 9:15am. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at 9:45am. Vigil prayers will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 7:15pm. Rite of committal in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends during visiting hours on Friday 1-4 and 6-9 pm. Memorial remembrances to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
