Obituary of Johanna Margaret Clarey
CLAREY, Johanna (Joan) Margaret
Peacefully, while surrounded by her loving family on February, 22, 2005 at the St. Catharines General Hospital, whilst in her 87th year.
Born in Uptergrove, Ontario in 1918, Johanna was the beloved wife of the late John Patrick (Jack) Clarey. She will be dearly missed by all her devoted family: daughters Jackalyn (Brian ) Scroggie and Janice (Ned) Coholan, son Peter, precious grandchildren Samantha (Peter Marshall) and John Scroggie, Erin (Blair) Wiley and Christopher Coholan, and great-granddaughter and namesake Johanna Marina Marshall. Also survived by her brother Alex Duffy (North Bay), sister Annette Gettings (Uptergrove) and sister-in-law Catherine Clarey (Cobourg).
With great loss to her many nieces and nephews, their children, and special friends Brigitte S.R., Karen L, Missy and family, Jean H, Dorothy and Len, Irene B, all her neighbours, old friends from the St. Catharines Curling Club, her new friends at Fairview Bowling and the Thorold Seniors Centre.
With special thanks for the compassionate care in the last year of her life to the staff at the Niagara Health Care System.
Johanna will be eternally remembered for her zest for life, her unfaltering generosity and forgiveness, as well as her unorthodox euchre skills.
