Obituary of Marcella Aedy
AEDY MARCELLA E. Peacefully, at Shaver Hospital on March 11, 2005, in her 83rd year. Finally reunited with her beloved husband Don (1978). Lovingly remembered by her son Lawrence, his wife Nancy and their children Don and Laura, daughter Linda Leonard, her husband Mark and their children Meredith and Laurean, daughter Janice Armstrong, her husband Brian and their son Ross. Predeceased by her parents, John and Emily Hicks, her brother Joseph (WW11). A long time resident of Thunder Bay, graduating in 1945 from the Port Arthur General Hospital School of Nursing, Marcella enjoyed the enduring friendship of many, which provided great comfort to her. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, family was paramount in her life. Marcella's unconditional love and support will remain a cherished memory.
As were her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. In celebration of her life, a memorial mass will be held Monday, March 21st at 11am, at Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church. Interment in Thunder Bay will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers and in remembrance of Marcella's love for animals, donations can be made to your local humane society. Alternately, contributions can be made to the Shaver Hospital Palliative care fund. The family would like to extend their thanks to CCAC Haldimand Norfolk as well as to the staff of 2-East at the Shaver Hospital, for their compassionate care.
