Obituary of Romeo Col
COL ROMEO On Sunday September 5th, 2004 at the Shaver Hospital, in his 77th year. Beloved husband for 48 years of Gabriella (nee: Morandin). Loving father of Marisa (Luciano) Conte, Norman (Debbie) Col, Paula (Paul) Curti and Laurann (Alan) Hanson. Cherished Nonno of Andrew, Ryan, Michael, Lisa-Marie, Christine, Danielle and Bradley. Dear brother of Oreste (Yolanda) Col and Giovanna Pancino. Romeo was predeceased by his parents Giacomo and Antonietta Col and his ever cherished step-mother Pierina Col; his brothers Guiseppe and Giovanni. He is survived by several in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.Born in Motta Di Livenza, Italy, Romeo came to Canada in 1952. He retired from General Motors in 1987. He loved life and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed his garden, music, playing cards and travelling. He was a member of Club Roma Seniors, Club Roma Choir, St. Alfred's Church and St. Alfred's Retiree Club. He will be sadly missed by many.
Romeo is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. until Thursday at 2:30pm.. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. Alfred's Church at 3:00pm Cremation to follow. Vigil prayers for the deceased willbe held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 2:30pm. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Memorial remembrances to the Shaver Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
