Obituary of Antonio Cardillo

Cardillo, Antonio 1925-2004 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Antonio Cardillo at the St. Catharines General Hospital on Sunday, September 26th, 2004 at the age of 79 years. He leaves to mourn, his beloved wife Pasqualina to whom he was married for 52 years; father of Maria and her husband Danny Catenacci of Woodbridge, Angela and her husband Joseph Burgio of St. Catharines and John and his wife Giselle Cardillo of Brampton, Ontario. Proud and Loving Grandfather to Julie, Joanna, Anthony, Ryan, Jason, Amanda, John Jr. and Briden. Antonio is survived by his sister Maria Cardillo from Pignataro, Italy Predeceased by his parents Giovanni Antonio and Leonilda Cardillo and his sisters and brother Matilda Evangelista, Lucia Tisco and Giuseppe Cardillo. Remembered fondly by his sisters-in-law Enrichetta Cardillo, Filomena Pannone, and his many, many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his friends, Peter Izzo, John Carlomusto, Ed Typer, Pasquale Dammiano, Emilio Ciocca and all his Friends at Cafe Venezia. Friends are invited to share their memories of Antonio with his family at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Tuesday September 28th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers for the deceased will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine Street (Carlton St. and Vine St.) on Wednesday, September 29th at 11 a.m. with Rite of Committal in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial Remembrances can be made to Hotel Dieu Oncology Department or St. Catharines General Hospital-3rd Floor Equipment.The Cardillo family wish to extend their gratitude to Dr. Paolone, Dr. Nolan, Dr. Gosevitz, Dr. Verma (Sunnybrook) and the nursing staff at the St. Catharines General Hospital for the excellent care provided to Antonio Cardillo.
