Laliberte, Lucien
Peacefully on Sunday, September 26, 2004, with his loving wife Majella of 57 years at his side. He leaves behind his caring daughters Lucie (Larry) Richardson, Sonja (Leonard) Pizzacalla, Mariette (Alfred) Stockwell and Diane (Ronald) Elliott. Cherished Papa of 19 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Treasured brother of Jacqueline (Gerald) Bisson, Andre and Jeanette Laliberte. Predeceased by his precious infant daughter Diane (1949) and his beloved son Gerard (1978) also his brother Hercules and his sisters Lucienne, Annette, Cecile, Alice, Evelyn, Germaine, Yvette and Jan. Lucien was born in L'Avenir, Quebec, was an MP in the Armed Forces in WW II, moved to St. Catharines in 1949 where he worked as a weaver in Bay Mills Textiles until 1950, when he became a Set-Up Man at General Motors for 31 years.
Lucien's family will receive relatives and friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Tuesday between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. Catherine of Alexandria Cathedral on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Rite of Committal, Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil prayers will be held on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial remembrances made to the Canadian Diabetic Association would be appreciated by his family.
