Obituary of Luba (Amalia) Hryb
Luba (Amalia) Hryb - When God calls, you need to go. Peacefully, at the Hotel Dieu Hospital, after a long and fulfilling life our Baba and Mama was welcomed into God's loving arms on December 7, 2003 in her 86th year. She is survived by her daughters Kathryn and Mary; her much loved grandchildren Tamara, Gregory and Emily and her niece Dorothy as well as many nieces and nephews in Europe. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Michael (1992), and her 7 sisters and 2 brothers; she will be missed by the people whose lives she touched in her caring and gentle way. Luba came to Canada from Croatia in April, 1953 and settled in St. Catharines in July, 1955. She devoted herself to her family and community as member of the Sts Cyril and Methodious Ukrainian Catholic Church, Rosaria and The Ukrainian Black Sea Hall.
We welcome you to visit and pray with her family while she is resting at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St. Divine Liturgy in celebration of her life will be held at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church at 10:00 on Wednesday December 10, 2003. Rite of committal will take place at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9pm. Panachyda will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:00pm. Memorial remembrances to the Sts. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church Building Fund or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
