Obituary of Phila Margaret Loucks
Loucks, Phila Margaret- passed away peacefully, her family by her side, at the Hotel Dieu Hospital, December 18, 2003, after a lengthy illness at the age of 86. Beloved wife of the late James Arthur Loucks. Dear mother of Andrew and his wife Randee of St. catharines, Donald and his wife Lynda of Toronto, Geoffrey and his wife Susan of Burlington, Catherine (predeceased) and her husband Barry Ireland of St. Catharines. Much loved grandmother of Samantha (Paul Matejcic) of St. Catharines, Jamie (Lisa) and Ryan of Burlington, Baden, Tobin and Emily of St. Catharines and beloved great grandmother of Jackson, Holden and Hanna. She will be sadly missed by brother-in-law Malcom Loucks, cousins Bill Hannah and Betty Fraser. She was predeceased by her sister Dorothy, and brothers Percy, Ted, Lyle and Chaunce. Phila was a proud homemaker of more than 50 years, moving to "Heart's Delight", their country retirement home near Short Hills Provincial Park, the focus of many happy family events. She was an active member of I.O.D.E. and U.E.L. She also touched many lives through her years of active volunteer work at the Hotel Dieu Hospital. A service of remembrance for Phila will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Wednesday January the 7th, 2004 at 4pm. A reception will follow at the home of Andy and Randee Loucks, 34 South Drive. At the request of the family there will be no visitation. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations can be made to the Hotel Dieu Hospital or the St. Catharines Public Library.
