Hi...I'm so sorry about John. I just found our about an hour ago. I would have loved to have been at the memorial but Ted Yates just told me. John was kind enough to offer his services to me for my daughter Faith's pictures taken a few months ago. Faith was one of the Canadian Idols and John took some pictures of her in a park near the Beacon Motor Inn. So many people loved the photo's of her. I'm not just saying that because of the moment but his style was pure class. I just told Faith a few moments ago and she is very sorry also. Although I had only met John a few times one of which was at the mall and one other time at CHSC radio, he was a kind and gentle person and Faith and I will miss him.....once again I'm so sorry.... Robin and Faith

I just heard yesterday (Friday Jan. 30th)of John's passing on Sunday.I've been living and working in Brantford for the past year.My condolences to Reba and family. John was a great guy and I have many good memories of him, from taking pictures of James St. James with us, to dropping by the station, - always with a smile, and usually a good joke.I remember John used to call me up and request his favourite song 'Missing You ' by John Waite. Now the song means so much more, because I, (like many others) will be missing John. But,like a good photograph, his memory will live on forever.
My condolences, Ted Yates.

Dear Reba and family.
I was very saddened to hear of John's passing. Please accept my condolences. Rarely did I ever see John without a smile and he always seemed to be in a good mood. I enjoyed talking "pictures" with John and am glad to have worked with him. He will be missed.

Reba and family....please accept my sympathies for your loss of John. He was always so supportive of what I was trying to do with CHSC and his drop-ins were a joy. I'm sorry we kind of lost touch after my time with the radio station ended. May you enjoy the return of personal happiness soon.
Best Wishes....Doug Setterington

John Cain was a part of my life for over 20 years and I will miss him.
My friendship with his granddaughter Leah began back in grade school and that is when I first met John. I have incredible memories of fun sleepovers with Leah at his and Reba's apartment on Glenridge. We would wake up to the smell of pancakes and the sound of finches chirping in the kitchen. There were the summers selling programs with Leah at Henley, making runs to Peninsula Press with John and ice cream cones on hot, sunny days. There were many trips to the popular Cats Caboose where Leah, John and I would sit at the bar; Leah and I would drink Shirley Temples like they were going out of style.
I also remember John and Leah taking me to Darien Lake for my thirteenth birthday, what an incredible surprise.
John had a zest for life that I have never seen in anyone else. His energy and attention to detail made him a wonderful photographer. My husband, Shawn and I were very fortunate to have John participate in our wedding two years ago as our photographer because I know he would do a fantastic job and his personality shone through all night long.
You will be missed John, by family and friends whose lives you have touched along the way with your zest for life and sense of adventure.
With our deepest, heart felt condolences,
Holly, Jocelyn and Shawn de Bray-Benard

Dear Mrs. Cain and family
I was saddened to hear the news about John. I used to run into John at different venues and always enjoyed his jovial approach to issues. I enjoyed the recent articles in the Standard. The picture was classic John.
We will all miss him

Mr Cain,
I am so sorry to see you go and even more sorry that I did not come to visit more often. The last time I visited, you told us jokes until 5am.
Its funny, but I have been thinking about all of you often lately and wanted to invite you to my house for a visit. After years of hard work I finally got a house big enough to invite you for a visit. Certainly you could have stayed as long as you wanted - a simple pay back for the years you let me spend at yours.
You were good to me. You taught me lessons. You Scolded me when we broke the couch and sent us to bed earlier. Ill never forget that night.
Then you really scolded me when I took my father for granted during one of his visits. I never forgot that lesson. When I graduated from the police acadamy - as the class speaker, I got to thank my father in front of 200 people - your earlier lesson motivated that speech -sorry again for not telling you that story.
Rest In Peace

Dear John,
It is so hard to believe that your wonderful, kind soul is gone.. We are going to miss your big "HI ALL" at Fredericks Photography. Your cheerfulness was contagious there and you always had a joke to share. I can still here you calling me "big mamma" the last time I saw you there when I was still pregnant. It is hard to believe that we won't see your bright smile any more begging for two sets, glossy prints!!
To his family: You are in my thoughts and prayers. I pray that God will give you the guidance and strength that you will need in these comming days. Be strong. You were very blessed to have him in your lives, he spoke of you often. May you take his photographs (the 100s of them!) and your memories to keep him alive forever in your hearts!
God Bless,
Rachel Spiewak-Hillis
