To the Stamps Family,
Hi neighbours. I'll never forget your friendship, companionship, leadership, and just good memories of being a neighbour to your family. It was a priveledge and a rewarding experience to share my growing years with such a dynamic family. And now that Mr. Stamps has passed on it only reminds me of the value of those times. I share your grief today but will always have a smile in my heart for Case. Thanks Mr. Stamps for being a good neighbourhood father.

To Our Beloved Mrs. Stamps and our childhood friends Betti, John, Patty and Peggy,
May I begin by first telling you how profoundly sad I was to hear of the passing of dear Mr. Stamps.
My memories of him are as pleasant as they are many and go back as far as I can remember.
I'll never forget, Betti, when your Dad drove us girls up North to that cottage on Sand Lake in June one year (1974? 1975? Remember the blackflies?). What a wonderful man he was, a family man, something I can fully appreciate now being a parent myself.
I'll never forget all those wonderful trips to Sandhurst and Bon Echo in our "Tag-A-Long" trailers. Thanksgivings up north with the VanAmelsfoorts. Your Dad was such a character and full, full of personality...always kind, always funny, always doing things with and for the family.
We have the neighbours over on Christmas Eve...a tradition of the Shepherds for years. I remember what a pleasure it was having the whole Stamps clan over for some cheer and watching Dad and Mr. Stamps kibbitz and enjoy each others' friendship. (Mom and Dad still have a little glass and a small spoon in their china cabinet that was JUST for Mr. Stamps.)
Playing pool, horseshoes or darts Mr. Stamps was always a pleasure to be around. I remember as a little girl that he always spoke to me and that he made me feel like I counted or was worthy of acknowledgement (very important to an eight year old!!!) I trembled when he spoke to set my behaviour straight for I respected him greatly.
To me, he was was closer than an uncle.
And truthfully, I ENJOYED the Dutch Barrel Organ!
Your Dad's spirit, humour and warmth will live on in us forever. What a pleasure it was to have known him
In Sympathy and Friendship Always,
Diane (Shepherd) Campbell
