Obituary of Lydia Dreher
DREHER LYDIA (nee Kramer) Was called home peacefully by Our Lord on Thursday May 27, 2004 at the St. Catharines General Hospital. She had received loving care from the wonderful staff at Tabor Manor Home for the past 17 months. Lydia was born in Ust, Russia on May 31, 1915 while her family was in exile during WWI. In 1918 the family returned to their homestead in Plock Poland. She was married to Arthur Dreher on February 15, 1936 and their union was blessed with two daughters. The family was separated during WWII and was reunited in Winnipeg Canada in 1951. Her husband predeceased her in 1995. She is survived by her two daughters, Hanna and Ruth (Horst) Mielke, 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, four brothers, Robert, Karl, and Hugo of Germany and Paul of Winnipeg.
Visitation will be at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME on Sunday from 7-9pm. A funeral service to celebrate Lydia's life will be held in Full Gospel Church, St. Catharines, on Monday at 11:00am, followed by interment in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mission Link via Full Gospel Church or to the Gideon's.
