Obituary of Wladyslaw (Walter) Zarnowski
Zarnowski, Wladyslaw (Walter) - On Wednesday April 16, 2003 at Linhaven Home in hs 89th year. Survived by a niece Cecylia Czechowicz and her son Mark of Toronto. Dear brother of Jan and Helen of Poland. Predeceased by his wife Anna and brothers and sisters in Poland. Walter was born in Poland on March 25, 1915. He served in the Polish Army, was captured in 1939 and was a prisoner of war until 1945. He emigrated to Canada after the war. Walter was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, and the Royal Canadian Legion Polish Veterans Br. 418.
Mr. Zarnowski is resting at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St. until Monday at 11:00am. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at 11:30am. Interment in Veteran's Section of Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil prayers for the deceased will be held in the funeral home on Sunday at 7:00pm. Visiting hours ar Sunday 2-4 and 7-9pm.
