Dear Mary:
When I received the news of Fred's passing, my heart was deeply saddened. Mary, I wish I could be there to hold and hug you during this difficult time. You and Fred have become "our extended" family, and we offer our love and prayers to you and Richard.
I would like to share with you some of my thoughts and memories of Fred that I hope would provide you with some comfort. The first vision that comes to my mind is my mom greeting Fred with one of her cakes/desserts and a cup of coffee. I know how much Fred loved my mom's cooking. I would always chuckle when Fred would talk about the weight he is gaining from this while he makes sure that not a crumb was left on the plate.
Fred was an extraordinary man who loved life and who loved to engage in a conversation about travel, politics, history and everything else inbetween. What I found unique about Fred was that he was a great listener. He took the time to listen to your thoughts and feelings whether they were personal or general in nature. Naturally, he would offer his opinions, but you always felt that he cared and took an active interest in what you said or did.
Fred was a man who cared about life and people. And it is that caring attitude that will always be in my heart in remembering Fred. To know and share life experiences with Fred was a special privilege for us, but to live with him as you have for many years, was a gift from God.
With all our love,
