We wish to express our sadness at hearing of the passing of Peter. As an ER Physician at the St. Catharines General Hospital, I have known Peter since 1970. He always came when called to see a patient At Mountainview Church we enjoyed after-church conversations and Bruce kept him up to date on medical politics after he retired from the hospital. He was on the Membership committee since February and was always willing to lend a hand, attending meetings and looking after the picture board. We will miss him greatly.

I remember Peter from about 1951 when we were both in residence at Middle House, Victoria College. He used to make the most wonderful mobiles and hang them in the stairwell. Even then he was a gentle, considerate and humorous man. He will be missed greatly.

Dr. Grant recently became my trustworthy companion on my journey back to health. His warm smile at greeting, his gentle words of encouragement for whatever might be working in my life, his kind, compassionate soul... I always left Dr. Grant's office with a little more confidence that I would be able to handle my challenges and that, indeed, there might be joy around the corner. I will miss him very much.

To the family of Dr. Peter Grant,
It is with a heavy heart that I send all of you my sincere condolence. Peter was a fine man and perhaps the nicest man I have had the pleasure of knowing. His warm sense of humor and kind an gentle ways should be an inspiration to us all. When I first joined Rotary, a few years ago, Peter was one of the first to welcome me aboard and went out of his way to make me feel that I belonged. I will always remember him insisting that I call him Peter, when I referred to him as Dr. Grant during one of my first visits to Rotary... During, one of my more recent conversations with Peter, he told me all about his recent trip to North Carolina, where he visited with Sarah and her family... and about spending a few days splashing around at the beach... his smile as he detailed the trip told me that it was a very special trip for him.

Please accept our condolences on the death of your father. Peter gave much time to lobbying for better conditions for those who are afflicted with mental health issues. He was always available both to his patients and spent many years serving in a volunteer capacity on the board of directors of the St. Catharines and District of the CMHA where his interests and concerns were very evident. He will be missed.

As a new member of the Rotary Club of South StCatharines, I was privilaged to hear Peter's
wonderfull voice as he led us in "O Canada", at the first meeting I attended. I also had a chance on many occasions to sit at the same table as Peter and enjoy some lively debates, and great fellowship. I did not know Peter as others know him, but the pleasure of his company will be remembered for a lifetime. I celebrate his life, and hope that the pain of his passing may be tempered in the knowlege of the joy he gave to you and other. God bless, Paul J.Hicks. a fellow Rotarian.

Sincere condolences to the entire family; Your father was a man of compassion, integrity and humour. His humour was always tempered so it would not be hurtful to anyone. I often called on him for advice, in my own legal practice. His advice was always "right on the mark". He was dedicated to giving back to the community and lived by the motto of Rotary, which he enjoyed so much. He will be missed by so many.

Ah, Pete ... Fond are my many memories of our times in Middle House residence at Victoria College, UofT, during the early 1950's. In spite of the studies and classes, we managed quite a few chess games, countless cartoons, a bit of writing and a demonstration against McCarthyism. You'll be missed, my friend.

Dr. Grant will be sorely missed. His patience, understanding and quiet, humble manner were a continual source of comfort to me during my office visits these past fifteen plus years. My sympathy is extended to you, the Grant family, which has suffered such a severe loss, but may you be comforted with the knowledge that your father is now in the nearer presence of God receiving his just reward, that of eternal life. May God bless you all.
