Obituary of Leoda Gertrude Fretz

Fretz, Leoda G. (Grinham) It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear Mom, and Nana, Leoda Fretz. She died suddenly but peacefully at Tabor Manor on Sunday, August 3rd in her 85th year. Left to mourn are her children: Audrey and Orlin Epp, St. Catharines; Beverley and Barclay Mulligan, Niagara-on-the-Lake; Don and Lois Fretz, St. Catharines; and Fred and Wendy Fretz, London, Ontario; as well as her grandchildren: Beverley and Bill Devolin, Janet and Clay Woodcox, Erin and Andrew Ackles, Heidi and Justin Bongers, Wendy Fretz , Kevin Fretz and her great-grandson Kent Devolin. Leoda is survived by her sister Bernice Esdale and her sister-in-law Mona Grinham as well as several nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by our Dad, Wilfred in May, 1991 and her brothers Harold, Lorne and Donald. Leoda is resting at The George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton Street. Visitation is on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. There will be a private interment on Wednesday. Following the interment, the family will receive friends at the Christ Lutheran Church, 140 Russell Avenue from 11 a.m. There will be a celebration of Leoda's life at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Christ Lutheran Church Bursary Fund, the Diabetes Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
