Obituary of Elva Walsh (Dolson)
WALSH (DOLSON) ELVA You can remember her and only that she is gone or you can cherish her memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back, or you can do what she'd want, smile, open your eyes, love and go on. At peace and surrounded by her loving family, it is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved wife, mother , grandmother and great grandmother Elva, on Thursday, August 21, 2003 at the Hotel Dieu Hospital. Loving mother and dearest friend to Barbara Gardiner, Diane Benner (Harold), Susan Zadorozny (Mike), Linda Walsh, Ron Walsh and Marlene Woodgate (Al). Elva was a cherished grandmother to Alan, Carolyn, Marcia, Tom, Diane, Debbie, K.C., Michael, Daniel, Ryan and Krista. Great grandmother to 12 children. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Walter. The most important goals in her life were her family and friends. She was kind and thoughtful and touched the hearts of many people in a caring way. She was an avid bowler and bridge player. Up to the end she was still making sure everyone kept proper score at Niagara Arms. A voracious reader she was instrumental in bringing the first Library to Crystal Beach in the 1950's.Elva is rsting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. where a service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday at 11:00am. Cremation to follow. Visiting hours are Friday 2-4 and 7-9pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to the Hotel Dieu Hospital or the St. Catharines General Hospital would be appreciated by the family. Her family wish to deeply thank the Palliative Care Nurses at the Hotel Dieu Hospital, Dr. Hughes and Dr. Rose for their support.
