Obituary of Melvin Loggie
Loggie, Melvin: On November 8, 2003 with his loving family by his side at 85 years of age. Predeceased by his wife, Barbara (2000). Loving father of Lois (Jim Flannigan), Melva (Stanley Kizul), James (Ruth), Terry (Lori), Betty (Stephen Kohut), and Brent (Cheryl). Melvin is survived by siblings Leigh, Bernice, Jackie, Thelma, Shirley, Willa, and Nita and predeceased by brother Boyd and sister Nan. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Melvin served in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corp during World War II and worked many years at Port Weller Dry Docks as a crane operator. A memorial service will take place in the chapel at George Darte funeral home, 585 Carlton Street, on Thursday, November 13, 2003 at 1:00pm. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr.Shimizu and dialysis staff at the Hotel Dieu hospital, Dr. Hartman, VON nurses, Lisa, Lilly, Beate, and other Pro Wellness staff. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Kidney Foundation or the Hemodialysis unit at the Hotel Dieu hospital.
