Obituary of Harry W. Lavell

Lavell, Harry Gone to the Promised Land on Monday, December 30, 2002 at the St. Catharines General Hospital in his 80th year. Loving husband of 54 years and best friend of Margaret. Exceptional father of Brian and Colleen, Mary and Tom Chapman, Colleen Evans, Peter and Kelly, and Sheila and Duff Porteous. Cherished papa of Chris, Katie, Heather Lavell; Patrick, Connor, Katelyn Chapman; Shaun, Kaley Evans; Ryan, Brendan, Evan Lavell and Liam Porteous. Survived by brothers and sisters: Thomas, Kathleen, Sister Anne Maureen, Florence, Alice, Theresa of Ottawa area and Peter of Dunville. Harry will be remembered for his sense of humor and fond teasing of his grandchildren. Harry enjoyed Bridge with his friends at Dunlop and Russell Ave. Senior Centres. The angels will be laughing as he passes the cards tonight. He spent years gardening and refinishing antiques. Special thanks to Dr. D. Whitty and staff. His family will miss his love and guidance. Mr. Lavell is resting at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St., until Friday at 9:00am. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church at 9:30am. Cremation to follow. Visiting hours Wednesday 2-4, and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Vigil prayers will be held on the funeral home on Thursday at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the CNIB or Niagara Peninsula Children's Centre.
