Obituary of Lily Gale

Gale, Lily (nee Mansfield) Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family on Friday, February 14, 2003 in St. Catharines, Ontario at the age of 88. Mum will be sadly missed by her daughter, Janis (Fred) LeBlanc, and grandsons Jamie (Angela), Randy (Tammy) and Steve, and great-grandchildren Adam and Cassie; and a son Don (Kitty), and grandchildren Scott (Dawn), Kelly (Colin) Smith, and Darcy (Bill) Olson, and great-grandchildren C.J. and Hunter. Mum was pre-deceased by her husband Richard (Dick) in 1978. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, she enjoyed a variety of sports, especially watching her Bluejays, and she loved to travel. Special thanks to the staff of the ICU at the Hotel Dieu Hospital. As per Mum's wishes, cremation has taken place. The inurnment will be held at the Riverside Cemetery in Thunder Bay on the Mother's Day weekend (date and time to be announced). Those who wish may make memorial remembrances in her name to a charity of their choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the George Darte Funeral Chapel, St. Catharines.
