Peacefully at her home in St. Catharines on May 14, 2002, surrounded by her family, in her 81st year, after a recurrance of her extended battle with cancer. Born in Guardia Lombardi, Avellino, Italy, on February 1st, 1922. Beloved wife and companion of Angelo for 61 years. Dear mother of Anna (Antonio) Giannetta of Italy, and Vito (Francesca) Della Manna of St. Catharines. Loving remembered by her sisters Rochina (Pietro) Castellano of Belgium, and Lucia (Francesco) Gentile of Toronto, and brothers Gerardo (Rosa) Iannachino and Antonio (Antonietta) Iannachino, both of St. Catharines. Predeceased by her sister Catharina (Rocco) in Italy. Dearly loved by her grandchildren Celesta (Giovanni), Savario (Lorita), Elio (Gerardina), Angelo (Debra), and Joseph (Teresa). She will be sadly missed by her 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Always an instrument of God†™s love, in her illness she taught us all how to shine.
Mrs. Della Manna is resting at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St., until Friday at 9am. Funeral Liturgy will be held at St. Alfred†™s Church at 9:30am. Rite of Committal will take place at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Visiting hours Wednesday 7-9pm and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Vigil prayers will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 3pm.
