Obituary of Alexander Joseph Sviergula
SVIERGULA ALEXANDER JOSEPH Suddenly, on Friday September 6, 2002 at the Hotel Dieu Hospital, at 69 years of age. Beloved husband of Bronislawa. Loving father of John and Diana (William) Horodecki. Dear brother of William (Maureen) Sviergula, Paul Sviergula, Bernice (John) Werner, brother in law of Gladys (the late Walter) Domagala and Peter (Elizabeth) Ziarno of Chicago. Predeceased by his sister Anne Sviergula and sister in law Czeslawa Ziarno. Alex will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, family in Poland, the United States and many friends. Alex was employed with General Motors of Canada as a Mechanical Engineer for 38 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Canadian Polish Society, and an usher at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
Alex is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. until Monday at 9:30am. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at 10:00am. Rite of committal in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil prayers for the deceased will be held in the funeral home on Sunday at 7:00pm. Visiting hours are Sunday 2-4 and 7-9pm. Memorial remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
