Obituary of Nellie Irene Shearer

SHEARER NELLIE IRENE (Copeman) Peacefully at Versa Care, St. Catharines, Ontario on September 16, 2002. Beloved wife of the Late Clifford Shearer, 1997. Loving and devoted mom of her twin girls Diane and Debbie and their husbands Frank Thiele and Conrad Perron. Predeceased by her mom and dad John and Jennie Copeman and her sisters and brothers, Ella, Agnes, Verna, Leta, Frank and Gordon. Her sister-in-law Nina Copeman and many special nieces and nephews survive Nellie. Maxine Carter, June Shaw (Vic), Doreen McChesney (Bill), Marg Bird (Mel), Bob Hammell (Iva), Helen Meyers, Bill Dominey (Sue), Margaret Anason (Oscar), Jean Frost (Jack), Ross Shearer (Ruth), Verla Murdock and the late Carl Murdock, Joy Leask, Ernie Carter, Dick Meyers and Jack Hammell. Born in Semans, Saskatchewan Nellie moved to Delhi where she owned and operated a beauty salon. She then moved to St. Catharines in 1947 where she continued her business. Nellie was an active member of the CAW ladies auxiliary for many years doing volunteer work at Versa care, Extendicare and The Blind Home. Nellie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Special thanks to Dr. J. Chauhan, Mary McGean, Lorraine Murphy, Diane Robertson, Iris Jiskoot (Brandon our special little man) Marie McCormick from activation, Sharon McKenzie and all of mom's nurses and health care aids that took such great care of her. In keeping with Nellie's wishes there will be no visitation. Cremation to take place. An interment service will be held at the Victoria Lawn Cemetery, Holy Trinity Mausoleum on Wednesday, September 18, 2002 at 1pm.
