Obituary of Brigid Mary Atkins
ATKINS, Brigid Mary (nee McGrath)- Bridie passed away peacefully April 14th at Upper Canada Lodge, NOTL. She was born February 19th, 1914 in Kilrush, County Clare, Ireland. She was the wife of the late Harry Atkins (1974) and devoted Mother to Harry (Wendy) Atkins of Fenwick, Norman (Nora) Atkins of St. Catharines and Cathy (Steve) Crane of Rochester, NY.
Bridie was predeceased by her brothers Paddie McGrath and Josie McGrath.
She was Nana to 10 grandchildren, Noreen (Sam Citrigno) Nesbitt, Sharon (Steve) Edmondson, Lynn (Don) Lawless, Catherine (Randy) Garrett, Kevin (Colleen) Atkins, Harry Atkins , Mary (Hakim) Charef, Annie (Eric) Wolfson,Margaret Crane, and Michael Crane , 12 Great Granchildren, Elizabeth, David (deceased 2010), Kathleen, and Ian Edmondson; Sarah and Rosie Lawless; Brianne and Graham (deceased 2010) Dakin; Conor, Cailin, Liam and Brendan Atkins.
Family will receive friends at THE GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, Carlton St St Catharines on Sunday April 17th , 1- 5 PM. Vigil prayers will be held at 3:00PM at the funeral home. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Star of the Sea Church, Port Dalhousie on Monday April 18th at 10:00AM...Internment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
