D' AMBROSIO, Lino
Peacefully, on Wednesday, October 24th, 2001 at the Hotel Dieu Hospital at the age of 72. Beloved husband of Lucia for 49 years. Loving father of Franc and wife Gwen, John and wife Cindy. Dear Nonno of Lisa, Johnny, Bobby, Max and Rem. Brother of Ana Lontay and Mario D' Ambrosio. Mr. D' Ambrosio is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. until Friday at 9:00am. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. Alfred's Church on Friday at 9:30am. Rite of Committal at Victoria Lawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation Thursday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Vigil Prayers will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 7:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hotel Dieu Oncology would be appreciated by the family.
Immigrating from his beloved Campobasso, Italy in 1954 with wife Lucia and son Franco, Lino was the epitome of a good husband , father, and provider. He was always generous and faithful to family and countless friends throughout his life.
Indpendant from the start in his new country, Lino began his working life at the first Canadian Tire store in St. Catharines, where he became Head Mechanic. He soon opened Leno's White Rose followed by Leno's B.P. Service, and in 1976 founded United Motor Collision, which his son and business partner, John, now carries forward. This remarkable man, husband and father, touched the lives of countless people with his kindness and generosity. His joys in life have left memories that will remain forever with all who knew and loved him.
