Obituary of Basil Augustus Simon

Simon, Basil Augustus (Gus) Suddenly at St. Catharines General Hospital on Thursday, February 17, 2000 Gus Simon 69 years of age; beloved husband of Mariette, cherished dad of Lynn Simon and Paul Duranyik, Nancy and Greg Mayhew, beloved papa of Karl, Connrad, and Erik, dear brother of Doris, Malinda, Ann, Barry, and Cecil, survived by many nieces and nephews. Was a member of Teamsters Union Local 879, he worked for Kingsway for 25 years and Cabano for 5 years, better known as Rocky Top. Gus is resting at the George Darte North Chapel, 585 Carlton St. where a funeral liturgy without Mass will be held in the chapel on Monday at 10 a.m. with cremation to follow. Visiting Hours Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers for the deceased will be celebrated in the funeral home on Sunday at 3:30pm. Memorial Remembrances to Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
