Laugher, Kenneth Raymond (Bud)
Peacefully after a long illness on Wednesday, February 21, 2001 at Linhaven Home for Senior Citizens, Bud Laugher 85 years of age; predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years, Bertha (1999), cherished father of Carol and Wilf Scheers of St. Catharines, and Lynda Schmor and Keith Thomson of Lakefield. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Lisa and her husband Warren, Julie and Michael, and his great grandsons Jesse and Caleb, dear brother of Joyce and Doug Swindley, and brother-in-law of Beth and Pam Laugher. Predeceased by sisters Constance, Rose, Winnifred (Hess), Doris (Hollands), Gweneth (Freeman), Violet (Webb), and by brothers Gordon, Stanley, Douglas, Claude and Maurice. He will be greatly missed by his brother-in-law Charles Taylor and his wife Elsie, special little friend Shealin Thomson, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Bud worked at Jones Food Market in Thorold for many years. He was a custodian with the Lincoln County Board of Education for 25 years retiring in 1980.
Mr. Laugher is resting at the George Darte North Chapel, 585 Carlton St. where a service to celebrate his life will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with interment in Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. Visiting Hours Friday 7-9 p.m. Memorial Remembrances to The Canadian Juvenile Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family. Our deepest thanks to everyone at Linhaven: Dr. O'Reilly, nursing staff and volunteers for their wonderful and compassionate care of our dad during the last months of his life.
