Peacefully with his children by his side, on Friday, February 23, 2001 at Linhaven. Born December 11, 1924. Beloved father of Dennis, Deborah, Dale & her husband Al Friesen. Proud grandpa of Jessica, Heidi, and Rebecca. Loving husband of Doreen. Dear brother of Keith & Dora Walker, and George & Hazel Walker. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Walker was a life member of the Burma Star Association. A member of the Grantham Lodge #697. A life member and past president of the St. Catharines Optimist Club. Past President of the St. Catharines Ad & Sales Club. A member of the Dalhousie Yacht Club, the Canadian Power & Sail Squadron, and the St. Catharines Real Estate Board. An honorary citizen of the state of Tennessee. Fred was a veteran of WW II having served with the Royal Canadian Air Force, Squadron #436.
Mr. Walker is resting at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St., until Wednesday where a funeral service to celebrate his life will be held in the chapel at 11am. Interment will take place at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Visiting hours Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9pm.
