As a result of an accident which occurred on Monday, April 30, 2001. John Barclay 36 years of age died at Hamilton General Hospital on Monday, May 7, 2001; best friend and loving husband of Shawn, precious daddy of Chelsea (Red) and Hayley (Peanut), best friend and son-in-law to Jo and the late Ron (Big Guy) Borland, loving nephew by choice to auntie Kay Williamson, best friend and brother-in-law to Randy and Pat DeBon, Kim and Barry Mazachowski, Dave and Katie Borland, loving uncle and playmate to Shane, Jesse, Randi, Jason, Kirsty, Andrew, Braydon, brother-in-law by choice to Donny Williamson, Greg and Paula Bourdon, son of John (Cowboy) and Bonita Barclay, grandson to Annabelle Barclay and grandpa Pick, new found brother and best friend of Brenda and Martin Vanderhout, brother of Margaret and Jason, loving uncle to Aaron, Meagan, the late John, Adrian, Cassandra, Nicole and Serena, loving nephew of Ernie and Joanne Derksen, Rocky and Sandy Pickering, Jill Pickering, remembered by caring aunts and uncles Annabelle, Agnes, Betty, Art, George, Jim, Roy and Dave. He will be sadly missed by many cousins and many good friends. John had worked at General Motors for 17 years, he has been involved with the Spartan Athletic Association for 33 years and bowled at Fairview Bowling Lanes for many years. Special thanks to auntie Kay, Paula, Eddie and Rod for being there for John.
John is resting at the George Darte North Chapel, 585 Carlton St. where a funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday at 11 a.m. with cremation to follow. Visiting hours Wednesday 7-9 p.m. and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial Remembrances can be made to a trust fund for John's children
