Obituary of John Joseph Buczkowski

Buczkowski, John Joseph - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John in his 81st year at the St. Catharines General Hospital, on Saturday, June 1st, 2013. Most loving husband and soulmate for 60 years (June 6) to Christine. Devoted and cherished father to daughter Patricia, and son John (Brandynn), and loving Dziadzi to Janek. Brother to sister Helen and husband Ken Lee. Predeceased by sister Wanda and brother-in-law Ted Troscinski, his parents Stephanie and Frank Buczkowski, and his in-laws Rose and Adam Troscinski. Also survived by his nieces and many family members. John was part owner in Crusty Bread in Thorold for many years. His next venture was the Wedding Boutique with his wife Christine for 26 years. Since his retirement, John enjoyed playing billiards with his friends at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #24, and was an active member of the NRLC Computer Club. He was also a life time member of the Knights of Columbus. John loved spending quality time with his cherished grandson Janek. We want to thank Dr. Samosh, Dr. Soliman, Dr. Zuliani and the staff in oncology and dialysis for their compassion and excellent care John received during his illness. Family and friends will be received at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines, on Tuesday, June 4th, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Vigil Prayers will be said in the funeral home on Tuesday at 3:30pm. Funeral Liturgy for John will take place on Wednesday, June 5th at 2pm, at the Star of the Sea Church, 34 Elgin Street. Internment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kidney Cancer Canada, or to the Oncology Department of the St. Catharines General Hospital.
