Dear Bert, yesterday your family and friends came together to say our goodbyes to you. I don't think it was our goodbye to you. It was a day to reflect and to look back and to share our memories of you. Your kids, Bert, Etelka, Liz, your grandchildren Tara, Chris, Jennifer, Jonathan, Megan, Brandon, their children, their spouses, former son and daughter in-law, very special member of the family Jay, your friends were all there to share their own special memories of you. You would have been touched and you would have laughed with us when we shared a funny memory of you. Thank you for being part of our lives. To the Horvath kids your father was full of life when I knew him. It is wonderful to see your own children having the same sense of humour.

Although I know you are in a better place grandpa, it pains me to know ill never get to hear yor laugh again or grunts or accented voice. You were the most jovial person and has the biggest heart. Anyone that ever met you were blessed and immediately liked you.words cannot express how much I love you, every time you went to get us ice cream, our trips to the trailer ( I loved when we would go up by ourselves, it was our special thing) the harmonica, your dancing abilities especially the twist. You were one if the greatest men I've ever known! I love you nagypapa.

I met Bert many years ago and he was an important part of my life for many of those years. He was always there for you and made sure that one was never hungry no matter who it was. He did everything for his family, his wife kids and the enjoyment he got from his grandchildren. He will be missed by all.

I met Bert almost 10 yrs ago when Liz and I became a couple, and he welcomed me into his family , He was always there to listen to me when I needed to talk to. I will miss all the times we had just sitting in his kitchen drinking , talking and him giving me advise, he was so kind ,loving and a very giving man who never said no. if you asked him for something and he had it to give and help he did. I will miss him so much. I love you Bert, and thank you welcoming me into your family.

My father, the first man I loved and cared for with all my heart, he was always there for me, not a time went by when he didn't help me, he never said no, no matter what the question was. he was always willing to listen and more important give his best advise. I will miss him so much but now he is watching over me always from above. Like he always said" YOU NEVER KNOW"

We always knew this time will come and it will be difficult for all of us but one thing that we are sure of that you are in the better place now. We know that goodbyes are often hard to say and they hurt so very much this time would come to pass you will always be in our minds and our hearts. Love always and god bless.
