Obituary of Robert Charles Ralph

RALPH ROBERT CHARLES (Bob RC) January 15, 1931 - July 13, 2013 Peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with liver cancer, Bob passed away in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of 63 years to Anna (Mines). Much loved dad to Cathy Sanders (Jim Smith), Sharon (Gord) Maidment. Robin (Jack) Plante, Bob (Sharon), Randy (Lori), Pam (John) Tyrer, and Tracy (Bobby) Taylor. Adored Papa to 21 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Survived by his sisters Shirley (Jack 2009) Alquire, Joan (Abe) Isaak, Carol (Dean) Steele, brother in law Wiliam (Muriel) Mines. Predeceased by his brother Allan, sister Donna Simcox, 3 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Bob was employed for 40 years at Ferranti Packard St. Catharines. In his retirement years he enjoyed his landscaping business "Specialty Services" and could always be found in the kitchen doing his baking or cooking. Our dad will always be remembered for our special family times, poolside BBQ's, Sunday dinners, Good Friday hikes, Christmas Holidays and his recitals of "The Slippery Elm Tree" or his famous "Last Kick Story". Thank you to a special friend Dr. Ken Taylor, Dr. M. Torrigan, St. Elizabeth Palliative Care Nurse Judi and his PSW workers. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St. on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A service to celebrate Bob's life will be held in the chapel on Thursday at 11 am. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers memorial donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. RC's Kitchen is Closed!
