Obituary of Gertrude Ratelle

RATELLE, Gertrude Passed away with family by her side on Tuesday, July 16th, 2013 at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Alex (1989). Gertrude will be lovingly remembered by her children Dianne (Len) Booth, Art (Pat), Leo (Milly), Ed (Jen), Bob (Marga) and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also survived by her siblings Florette, Silvio and Raymond. Predeceased by her brothers Albert and Laurent, and her sisters Pierrette and Ida. Gertrude was born in Hull, Québec on July 8, 1922 and moved to Cornwall at an early age. She married Alex and together the two moved to St. Catharines in 1947. She was active in the church and the Catholic Women's League. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Thursday, July 18th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Liturgy will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 316 Queenston St., St. Catharines, on Friday, July 19th at 11 a.m., with interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
