Obituary of Rowan Shawn Langille

LANGILLE, Rowan Shawn - With his loving family at his side holding his hand on Friday, July 26th, 2013 at McMaster Children's Hospital at the age of 4. Cherished and loving son of Ann and Shawn Langille. Special brother of Jocelyn, Nathan and Logan. He will be sadly missed by his loving family companion Elly. Grandson of Robert and Linda Richter and Marilyn Langille (Albert Aiello) and Bill (Pat) Langille. Great grandson of Eric and Jessie Warner. Nephew of Robert (Stacey) Richter, Jeffery Richter (Jordana Bachelor), Lajla LaPorta and Leslie (the late Jeffery) Morris. Rowan will always be remembered for his love of hockey and golf. We will never forget the time he was able to meet his idol Sydney Crosby of his favourite team, the Pittsburgh Penguins. Rowan really loved going to Niagara Ice Dogs hockey games with his family. He attended Port Weller Elementary School. We consider the staff, students and parents of the school to be like our extended family. The family wish to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at McMaster Children's Hospital, especially Nurses Sarah and JoAnn and Dr. Jonathan Gilleland for all their care and compassion. A special thanks to Cindy VanHalderan for taking such good care of Rowan and our family. Rowan is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7-9p.m. A Celebration of Rowan's Life will take place on Wednesday at 11a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens in Fonthill to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Niagara Peninsula Children's Center would be appreciated by the family.
