Obituary of Ronald James Scott
SCOTT, RONALD JAMES Nov. 29,1927 - Aug. 15, 2013 In memory of a wonderful and devoted husband, father and grandfather. As well as a valued asset to his profession. Beloved husband of Mary for 55 years. Loving father of Jacqueline (Adam) Thacker and Bob (Sharlene). Cherished grandpa of Kyle, Melissa, Emily, Colin and Cameron.
A celebration of Ron’s life will be held on Saturday, September 28th at 1:00 pm at the GEORGE DARTE FUNEAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. In lieu of flowers, it would be greatly appreciated by his family that donations be made to the United Way or a charity of your choice in Ron’s memory.
SCOTT, RONALD JAMES (F.C.A. ; F.C.M.A.) - Passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 15th, 2013 at Henley House, at 85 years of age. Beloved husband of Mary for 56 years. Loving father of Jacqueline (Adam) Thacker and Bob (Sharlene). Cherished grandpa of Kyle, Melissa, Emily, Colin, and Cameron. Mr. Scott graduated as a Chartered Accountant with The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario in 1954 and later graduated as a Certified Management Accountant with The Society of Management Accountants of Ontario in 1961. In March, 1979 was elected a Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario (F.C.A.) and in July 1979 was elected a Fellow of The Society of Management Accountants of Canada (F.C.M.A.) He became a partner in the firm of Smiley, Scott and Ralph in 1961 which merged with Touche Ross & Co. in 1976 and later became Deloitte & Touche. He was also a member of The Canadian Association of Business Valuators. Mr. Scott retired from Deloitte after a long and successful career. Ronald was a member of the Gyro Club of St. Catharines for over 40 years and volunteered his professional expertise and guidance to many community & professional organizations. His family will remember forever his unselfish acts of love and kindness as a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held with inurnment in Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
The family would like to express their thanks to all the staff at Henley House for their kindness and support during this difficult time.
