Obituary of Reinhard Neske

NESKE, Reinhard- Passed away peacefully, with his wife and daughter by his side on Monday, September 16th, 2013 at Douglas Memorial Hospital in Fort Erie at the age of 83. Devoted husband of Hilda for 53 years. Loving father of Linda Alder and her husband Rob. Cherished Opa of Heather (Jorin) Strasser, Justin (Lindsey) Alder and Winston Alder. Great Opa of Berkley Alder and Luca Strasser. Predeceased by his great grandson Ethan Alder (2012) and his parents Paul (1988) and Therese (1998) Neske. Dear brother of Alfred and Sara Neske, Elfie ( the late Gerhard 2007) Neske, Roman and Inge Neske, Herta (the late Rolf 2007) Suntz and Gunter (the late Elli 2013) Augustine. Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Reinhard worked at DOFASCO in Hamilton for 30 years. In his retirement he enjoyed good health, travelling and his role as President of the German Canadian Benevolent Society for 20 years. He was a long time member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hamilton and more recently, Grace Lutheran Church in St. Catharines. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Thursday from 2-4p.m. & 7-9p.m. Funeral Service will be celebrated at Grace Lutheran Church, 213 Linwell Road on Friday at 12p.m. Burial at Victoria Lawn Cemetery to follow. Memorial donations to both churches or Heidehof Home for the Aged would be appreciated by the family.
